Rumble on the River #4

with 2 comments

The 4th annual Rumble by the River went off without a hitch was still going off without a hitch when I left Dan’s, Saturday night. Although the weather guessers had predicted storms, rain stayed well to our north where, I was told,  Unbelievers live. The early clouds finally recognized our righteousness and moved aside making Saturday a great day for enjoying good company good music and good barbecue prepared by the“U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club”
The proceeds from the sale of said barbecue fund USMV MC charitable efforts.

The Rumble on the River is attracting some local attention as a music event. That’s no surprise since Dan is not only a talented songwriter, but also the main vocalist for the band, “Johnson Grass” and a supporter of budding local talent.

Local talent turned out for the party, for sure, to both entertain and to showcase their creative works. Some were new voices, to me.

Others were acquaintances already made who we look forward to seeing and hearing at the event, each year.

Of course there were motorcycles and the folks who love them.

Despite the earlier remark  about the Faith of folks living in the rain-affected area, some of these riders experienced that rain up close on their ride to the Rumble. Its said, “If you don’t ride in the rain, you don’t ride”, but National Weather Service had predicted the possibility of hail, no friend to bikers, so I’d call these folks, “faithful”.

As if great music and food, cold beer, and eyeful biker women weren’t already  enough, a fellow could also take a motor boat ride or just paddle his sweet thing , if so moved.

Son of gun, we had big fun on the bayou.
